Cndy has been involved in the fitness industry since 1977 when she was
AAU Female Athlete of the Year and co-owner of Body Builders. As the
first female power lifter in St. Louis, she placed 4th in the world,
but soon moved on to teaching fitness classes corporately and
eventually received multiple certifications from AFAA and ISSA, Yogafit
and now The Yoga Alliance. These days her interests and priorities are
personal training and, more importantly, yoga. At floored her
goal is to introduce yoga to everyone, especially those who have never
had the experience of health and peace that yoga can facilitate. She
also plans to grow offerings at floored to workshops and a variety of yoga practices ... something for everyone!
Classes She Instructs
Level 1 Yoga
This
class is instructional, starting right from the beginning of your new
yoga practice. Introducing you to the breath and thought of yoga as
well as taking time to stretch, we will learn alignment principles and
prepare ultimately for an asana practice.
We will incorporate
some yin style practice (mindful holding of basic stretches to awaken
and soften those cramped places) and restorative yoga (restful,
supported, very relaxing postures). Even if you are not an ultra
beginner and want some soothing, nurturing time for your mind and body,
this class is for you.
Level 2 Yoga
This class is for
people who may not be new to yoga but still feel the need for
instruction and guidance to learn breathing techniques and proper
alignment, become more familiar with the asanas. You are always
strengthening your body and your yoga practice. We will move into some
vinyasa flow as the class allows and deepen our practice, gaining mind
and body flexibility, steadiness, strength, calmness of the mind, body
and spirit. Props such as straps, blocks and blankets are offered and
used in each class.
